I am a Ph.D. student in Computer Science at DISCo (Dipartimento di Informatica, Sistemistica e Comunicazione), where I received a Bachelor and a Master's degrees in Computer Science.
My main research interest is Evolutionary Computation (EC), that I intensively exploit to tackle complex problems in Systems Biology, e.g., the kinetic parameter estimation and the reverse engineering of biochemical systems.
EC methods rely on the execution of multiple simulations of the systems under investigation, which is a computationally intensive activity. For this reason, I constantly work on the optimization and acceleration of the deterministic, stochastic and hybrid simulation algorithms. In particular, I largely exploit the GPGPU computing paradigm, in order to exploit the huge parallel computational power of modern video cards.
A list of my publications, and the teaching activities I am involved in, is available on my personal web page.
